As we all know, if we can clean car models regularly and with care, car models will keep new and retain their value. However, many collectors don't know how to clean the car. How to clean the car is an important issue for keeping the car models. There are some tips to clean the car models in the following.

No Water: water may be the most obvious object when preparing to clean a car model, but water can actually do harm to the models, especially on very old collectible cars. The car models are waterproofed that have usually been sealed with a varnish.

Non-abrasive Cleaners: you can't use plain, undiluted soap when washing a model car. Many detergents can leave a thin, filmy residue on a model car that can end up making the model look flat or dingy. If using soap when cleaning a waterproof model car, dilute the soap with water first. Petroleum jelly can also be used to clean model cars, provided the substance is completely removed with cotton or other non-abrasive material.

Dry Methods: when you use a keyboard computer dust cleaner on a model car, hold the cleaner's nozzle spray at least 3 inches from the model car to prevent fragile parts from snapping off or breaking from the force of the air. You should hold fragile parts when you're  cleaning a model or taking them off the model if possible. The can of dust cleaner should always be held upright, and the model car should be placed parallel with the nozzle. This prevents the liquid from the cleaning leaking into the model.Soft paintbrushes and soft-bristled toothbrushes can be used to clean the surface of a model car. Very thin paintbrushes and cotton ear cleaning devices may be able to fit into smaller nooks and crannies to assist in cleaning the model car.

The History of Car Model

Do you know about the history of car model? The following will give a brief introduction about the car model.

Miniature models of automobiles first appeared as slush cast plaster or iron toys made in the early decades of the 1900s. Tin and pressed steel cars, trucks, and military vehicles followed in the 1930s and 1940s. Casting vehicles in various alloys, usually zinc (called zamac or mazac), also started during these decades and came on strong particularly after World War II.

Post war, the zinc alloy vehicles became ever more popular in Europe in particular. While diecast metal cars were seen in America they were often simple, while plastics also surged and became prominent. Tin and pressed steel came to Japan, rather late, during the 1950s and 1960s, and that country quickly moved into diecast by the 1970s. Today, China, and other countries of Southeast Asia are the main producers of diecast metal European, American, and Japanese companies.
